Groupe Beau Vallon, a key economic player in the Southeast of Mauritius, is seeking a Sustainability Lead to drive and accelerate the Group’s sustainability agenda across all clusters (Hospitality, Agri-Business, Property, and Leisure). KNOW-HOW:

 

  1. Strategy, Governance & Cluster Support
  • Develop, update, and implement the Group’s sustainability strategy with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and timelines.
  • Align sustainability initiatives across clusters, ensuring cohesion and impact at Group level.
  • Monitor legislation, regulations, and emerging standards to maintain compliance and anticipate opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing research on emerging trends, technologies, international standards, and regulatory changes.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to operational teams in their sustainability efforts.

 

  1. Environmental Impact & Operational Leadership
  • Support teams in reducing environmental impact (air, water, soil, biodiversity, health & safety).
  • Drive continuous improvement and sustainable transformation in processes and practices.
  • Manage and monitor environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks.

 

  1. Awareness, Training & Engagement
  • Lead awareness and training initiatives to embed sustainable practices across the organization.
  • Develop internal educational tools, campaigns, and programs to encourage eco-friendly behaviour
  • Collaborate with the Communication Department to ensure consistent and impactful internal messaging.

 

  1. Beau Vallon Inclusive Foundation Management
  • Oversee the operational and strategic management of the Beau Vallon Inclusive Foundation in coordination with its committee.
  • Develop and execute the Foundation’s annual action plan and key initiatives.
  • Supervise the Foundation’s Administrative Coordinator, ensuring smooth execution of administrative and reporting tasks.
  • Evaluate and monitor external partner projects, ensuring effective implementation and risk management.
  • Track impact indicators and prepare reliable reports for Management and the Foundation Committee.

 

  1. ESG Monitoring, Reporting & Performance
  • Track Group performance using relevant ESG indicators.
  • Prepare consolidated sustainability and ESG reports contribute to internal/external audits and certification processes.
  • Monitor budgets related to sustainability initiatives and Foundation projects, ensuring compliance with financial procedures.

 

  1. Cross-Functional Projects & Innovation
  • Lead or support environmental and circular economy initiatives across the Group.
  • Ensure sustainability initiatives are coherent, prioritised, and aligned with strategic goals.

 

  1. External Relations & Partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders: clients, suppliers, NGOs, and public institutions.
  • Represent the Group in sustainability-related committees, events and working groups.

 

SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sustainability, ESG, or related fields, ideally across multi-site and multi-activity environments.
  • Experience in the hospitality, real estate, or agricultural sectors is an asset, along with any relevant certifications.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, autonomous, strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
