With a heritage that spans over two centuries, Groupe Beau Vallon is a cornerstone of the Mauritian sugar industry. Deeply embedded in the economic landscape of the Southeast, the Group has successfully diversified into four key sectors: agri-business, property, hospitality, and leisure.
Within our agricultural pursuits, we engage in the cultivation of sugarcane, potatoes, onions, fruits, vegetables, hearts of palm, and biomass. Our operations also include deer farming for both hunting and venison, alongside the cultivation of ornamental and fruit plants nurtured within our nurseries.
In 2003, the Group completed its inaugural residential development. Since then, more than 3,000 residential plots have been thoughtfully created and marketed across diverse projects, notably in Beau Vallon, Mahébourg, Grand Bel Air, Pointe d’Esny, and Souillac, each offering a distinct range of housing options.
Groupe Beau Vallon also owns three hotels located along the coast: Preskil Island Resort and Astroea Beach in Pointe d’Esny, as well as Solana Beach in Belle Mare; each offering a breathtaking view of the lagoon.
The origins trace back to 1771, during the French colonial era, when the de Rochecouste family, historical custodians of the estate, secured a concession in Beau Vallon. With successful cultivation, their holdings expanded from Mahébourg to Pointe d’Esny, extending all the way to Riche en Eau and Chemin Français. In 1921, Compagnie de Beau Vallon Limitée was established, primarily focusing on sugarcane cultivation during that era. After a phase of consolidation and agricultural development, the group embarked on a trajectory of diversification over the past two decades.

Our aim is to illuminate
the natural and cultural heritage
Contemplating tomorrow
While keeping our feet firmly grounded;
Close to our roots,
Close to the men and women
Who have become family
Drawing inspiration from the South East,
Open to the world,
Thriving and feeding on new ideas.
Reinventing ourselves, using the wisdom of yesterday
And today’s innovations
To perpetuate the history of Beau Vallon.
